Just a quick heads up to say that this is NOT a fatherhood blog. Well I guess it could be; I mean my daughter will grow up in a country being overrun by idiots and traitors. I must say that I was not surprised by the two items I am going to discuss in this blog. Well not surprised after I thought about what I had heard. I AM surprised however; that with US Citizens like the one's I am about to discuss we still have a standing nation. The audacity of some and the idiocy of others merely shows how resilient a Democracy (or Federalist Republic) can truly be. Although the name sake of this particular article had other thoughts...

On my way home from work Wednesday night (4/7/10) I was listening to CNN and Anderson Cooper. The discussion was centered on the Governor of Virginia calling for "Confederate History Month". Apparently he is upset about all of the other history months and the slant that modern textbooks place on the Civil War. Now I am not going to downplay the significance of our Civil War, but we are 145 years removed from the end of it. So I am pleasantly ignoring the droning of talking heads when I hear an obviously white male speak the words...."but the Civil War had nothing to do with slavery."
His defense of this was that the Southern states were only interested in State's rights and that slavery never factored into this. He actually said that it was okay for slavery to be in place in the US because "it was in place all over the world ." The problem with that theory is that other than Russia slavery had already been banned in the other countries of the developed world, but I digress. Guess who the counter point guest was....You guessed it, a black male.
That is all it took. One ignorant talking head and we are now back on the "the white man has been holding us down" super highway. Forget the fact that we have one of our Governors trying to drum up publicity for a subject designed specifically to drum up support from his white voters. Forget the fact that it could have been a great debate about the importance of state's rights. Forget the fact that the more we get sucked into bullshit debates the further we get from dealing with the true issues we face as a nation. Forget the fact that 12% of the population hijacks the debate to keep 100% of the nation from moving forward.
When are we going to learn? When are we going to learn that we have more IMPORTANT things to do than debate what happened 150 years ago? Why is it important to have a "Confederate History Month"? It's not! Why is it important to have any history month? It's not! What it shows me is that our education system is in such miserable condition that we have to have focus group history lessons. This is a very simple example of how ignorant the leadership of our country is. The true fact however, is that this is an example of the AMERICAN VOTER.
So there I was broken from my gentle hypnotism that was my 45 mile drive home; disgusted at where we are as an American people and about to become more severely disappointed. Thanks Fox News.
The discussion here centered on the Attorney General of our nation (Eric Holder) declaring that he felt that the attorneys at Gitmo defending the"Al-Queda 7" were patriots. Here is his quote:
"Let me be clear about this: Lawyers who provide counsel for the unpopular are -- and should be treated as what they are -- patriots."
WTF? Lawyers that defend unpopular American citizens are doing a job that is provided for by US Law. This does not make them patriots. Doing your job does not make you a patriot. You may be a patriot and decide to do a job (i.e. military) but just doing your job in itself does not make you a patriot. AND, these "people" were not US citizens and committed terrorist acts against our country. SO these lawyers may be doing their jobs, but they are not patriots. Now I will tell you why some of them are traitors and should be hanged as such.
Many of these lawyers worked for the ACLU. (Side Note: I am shaking as I type this because I am so pissed off.) These "patriots" decided that in the spirit of John Adams heroic defense of the British soldiers after the Boston Massacre they would give these "people" a patriotic defense. I guess they missed the part in the history books that teaches us that we (The Colonies) were STILL UNDER British Law at the time. Colonists broke the laws of the land and John Adams was defending the governing power.
Anyway they (The ACLU) launch the "John Adams Project". The goal of this project? To photograph CIA operatives in the home countries of these "people" and then provide these photographs to the "people" they are defending. These photos then get passed, through lawyer privilege, to the assholes in the Middle East that constantly want to ruin our way of life. CIA operatives that provide information that protects you, me, our families, and everyone else on US soil were sold out by US citizens. I hope Jason tries to defend lawyers on this one!
You and I are LESS safe because we allow people to be in positions of power that actually believe that the US is the evil empire. We should all be ashamed. I hope that more people become aware of the nightmare approaching us. I am glad I will miss the true end even if I am not missing the decline of the most powerful nation of its time. But I am very sad my daughter may be around to see it.

First of all, you really should check some of the real history first. Like Lincoln's papers in the Library of Congress for instance. You will find that NONE of the slaves were freed (North or South) until half-way through the war - not the start. Lincoln used the issue as a political ploy to get re-elected. He really was not in favor of it. In fact, he had already drafted a plan to ship them all out of the country. That is conveniently left out of the text books used in the government schools.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, the Virginia governor put back into place a standing order that had been in effect for quite some time in Virginia. It has only been not in effect during the last 8 years of Democrat governors.
Next, he isn't up for re-election. He just won the office last November, so...
Lastly, the issue of slavery should be condemned - no matter where it is or when. Yet once again, the government schools and the media treat it as a "black" issue. I think you will find that over the centuries (and even today) there have been a whole lot more slaves that were NOT black. Even in slavery, the blacks are a minority.
There isn't any need to spend much time on the second subject. What do you expect from one of Obama's puppets or the ACLU? The American people are getting exactly what they asked for by electing this crowd. We may never recover.

First off, the Civil War was fought over States Rights because the political powers in the corrupt Northern States had turned to big Government and were trying to steal some of the wealth from the South, although the right to own Slaves was diffidently a factor, nevertheless by that time Parliament had "outlawed" slavery except for the Irish and the Scottish of course.

When the majority is to lazy to get off the couch and go vote because their favorite Reality TV show is on with their 500 channels of nothing, the minority that does go out and vote wins. Plus, not to mention people are spending 50K to 75K for their child to go to college and get indoctrinated by some Liberal fuck professor who teaches something that he most likely never accomplished. So your dumb ass kids come out of college with a STD, a worthless education that says they been educated in a trade they cannot even perform and liberal, good going mom and dad.
Although that quote from John Adams is true to some degree, remember this; America has always been slow to catch on, but when we do, we come back with vengeance. America will not self destruct and this idiot in the White House will soon be forgotten in history as Carter is. Our fore fathers were blessed by the Almighty God and it was through his hand that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were written. The uniqueness of these documents allows the people to change what is broken and make better what is right. America will prevail, because no matter how the people of this nation try their damndest to turn their backs on God, the nation, this land belongs to him and we are Americans.
America has lost its Moral Compass and character, watch any television show for an example, we lost who we are, we get right as a person and as a people, then our nation will be right.
Because what America needs now more than ever, is Leadership and God.

I have read the papers. There is a wonderful book by Thomas DiLorenzo titled "The Real Lincoln". In this book DiLorenzo details the craftiness in which Lincoln helped maneuver the South to benefit his goals for a goverment with large Federal and little State power.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am aware that the Governor was recently elected. However he still campaigns and tries to pull in votes for those he supports. Remember, this is year has the potential for a very interesting mid-term election.

Peace through superior firepower; not from your President who just crippled the USA in regards to Nuclear Warfare and changing our policy that we won't nuke a country that isn't nuclear capable. I know you enjoy pretending that you are the only person that voted against Obama, and that you are the only person that sees what is happening in this country. However, that is not the case.

ReplyDeleteYou are right, I did not serve. And those of you who know me know that I would NEVER bad mouth a soldier. I thank God everyday for the gift of my freedom and I will never forget those who have died for it.
Also, as we discussed away from this forum, you feel as if I am parroting the far right in their bashing of Obama. That is far from the truth. I blame the American people that voted for him. He could not do a thing to affect the US and its security if he had not been voted into power.
Lastly, every major culture has lost its relevance at some point in history. I am sure that citizens of those powers thought that the end would never come; but it did. So take offense if you want, but the purpose of this discussion is to help maintain our vigilance against those that would lull us into a false sense of security.
The Roman Empire lasted from roughly 750 BC to 550 AD. The Great American Experiment is at 234 years. I'm sure that people felt this way during past President's and especially Carter. Obama has no business being President, that is agreed. He is a socialist at heart and is intent on changing the fabric of American society, agreed. Nevertheless, our form of government alones the Congress to change the laws we make, to appeal the laws in place, like slavery or Prohibition. The problem at its core is how children today are raised, with a sense of entitlement, like they are owed something which they did not earn; did you and wife demand your home and car when were married or did you work for it? That is one of the differences between our generation in the generation today.

They have systematically kicked God of schools and society. Look at what people and their children watch on television. Is it what we would be allowed to watch growing up. You and your children are becoming desensitized and indoctrinated.
So why would you expect anything else from the sheep of the country will the ones that realize what is happening are resigned to let it occur.
We have lost our relevance and that is short sighted of you to say; we simply lost our way which is easy to regain, will the help and guidance of Providence. Or we can sit back play the fiddle as it burns.

Americans have been able to overcome many threats and challenges. As a rule we do very well when it comes to defending attacks from outsiders. We even managed to overcome the tearing of the nation during the civil war.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we are not dealing with an outside threat. Don't get me wrong; we will be if this administration is able to accomplish all that it desires. It is easy to rally against an attacker. It is far more difficult to rally people when they have been conditioned into believing that any change is for the common good.
We also have the problem of a fractionated populace. It is far too easy to allow TV to babysit our kids and poison our minds. But we have allowed this to happen. We have allowed ourselves to become weaker mentally.
Maybe a new revolution will be needed one day. If that day ever comes I will side with our constitution. Remember our Forefathers rebelled because the King would not grant the rights guaranteed to the subjects of the British Empire to the colonies.
We may one day have to defend ourselves from a leader not looking out for the American people. But lets not lose sight of what needs to be one today. We must raise our standards for what we expect in our leaders. And we must also raise our children to demand the same as they grow into the leaders of this nation.
Once again, your short sightness comes into play. The American people may have lost a battle with Health Care, although look how the Liberals had to pass the law, by backdoor dealing, intimidation and reconcilation. 56 percent of the American people were against it and were at the Capital to voice their wants, unfortunately, we have to wait until November and Obama has taken "any major legislation until after the Mid-Term elections" like a natural coward.

If they continue and Obama and the Democrats do not manage to get them labeled as terrorist, unlike al quaeda whom he believes are just misunderstood citizens, the government will change guard. Also remember, that the Health Care bill does not take place for another 4 years, enough time to appeal or abolish it. Not only that, we have to wait for the outcomes of the States taking it to the Supreme Court.
Whether the Liberals remain in control or the Republicans take control. What America still needs is Leadership, fiscally conservative Leadership.

And our Supreme Court is about to take a turn to the left. I hope that the law gets shot down as unconstitutional, but that may not happen.

ReplyDeleteWe may or may not be on the cusp of "The End". It really doesn't matter whether we are or not. "Why?", you may ask. Simple really. If we are, the brain-dead, me-first, gimme my entitlements crowd won't see it until it is too late, so... If we aren't, it doesn't really matter does it? (Other than for intellectual blog fodder.)
Morals, or the lack of them, play a major role in any society as well as the health and longevity of that society. Where would you all put those of the U.S. in general now? (Hint. It may well show you just how bad things are or how good they are.)
With regard to "PALIN 2012", does her bringing an end to Financial Waist equal belt tightening? Oh gosh and by golly! (Just kidding.) Being a governor is certainly more impressive than just a socialist community organizer, but which one got elected? Enough of the homey sayings too. They only play well the first couple of times around.
Concerning "Peace through superior firepower", remember a couple of things -
1. Mr. Grenade is not your friend when the pin is pulled.
2. The only time you can have too much ammunition is when you are drowning or are on fire.
